Teaching • Movement Training for Actors
Jackie's approach to training actors is a fusion of the work of the following practitioners: Sigurd Leeder, Kurt Joss, Rudolph Laban, Trish Arnold, Litz Pisk, F M Alexander, Moche Feldenkrais, Jerzi Growtowski, Jacques Le Coq and Belinda Quirey.
- PURE MOVEMENT:
To release the body of unwanted tension which allows for physical transformation and frees breath for the voice. - DYNAMIC MOVEMENT AND ACROBATICS:
To stretch and stengthen the body. To encourage balance control, trust and confidence. - GAMES AND IMPROVISATION:
To develop a sense of play and work as an ensemble. - ANIMAL STUDY:
To develop the skills of observation and transformation. - MASK WORK:
To develop physical characterisation. - HISTORICAL MOVEMENT AND DANCE:
To develop the appropriate movements for a given time period.
